When Does a Hot Water Heater Need Help?
When the hot water disappears completely, it’s pretty clear that you need to call someone in to get it fixed. However, some water heaters will let you know that there’s a problem before they die completely. Here are some signs to look for so you can get to the bottom of the problem before the dreaded day when your hot water is gone.
- Your water heater makes unusual sounds. Clunks and bangs can indicate that the water heater is not working the way it should.
- Your hot water seems to be cooling. If you used to have very hot water but it is now more like lukewarm, you may need to call someone. Check the temperature settings on the outside of the heater first. If these get bumped, it can change the temperature of your water. If they are normal, give us a call and we’ll figure out what is going wrong.
- You don’t have enough hot water. If you used to have plenty of hot water and now you don’t, there’s a good chance the problem lies in your water heater. We’ll troubleshoot the issue and let you know what has gone wrong.
- Your water heater leaks. If you notice puddles or pools of water around the bottom of your water heater, it’s time to take a look and see where it is leaking. Small leaks can become big problems over time, so it’s best to catch the problem early.
If you notice one of these problems or have another indication that your electric water heater isn’t working well, we’ll send out a skilled electrician to solve the problem.
